Vacation Recap

I am definitely feeling the vacation blues after coming back from Florida. We had yesterday to relax after spending a LONG day traveling on Wednesday. We ended up being 5 hours delayed. Let me tell you that was no fun with two kiddos that got up at 3am, but they were so well behaved. It was truly amazing! We did end up getting some travel vouchers so where are we going to go to next? I am missing this view and family!

Anyways, we had an absolute blast in Florida with family. We really didn't have anything on the agenda and it was perfect. My aunt has a pool so we basically hung out at the pool and drank strawberry daiquiris all day. Pretty amazing if you ask me!

We got in late the first night so when we got to my aunts house it was past bedtime for the kiddos. Kinley was so excited it took a little to calm down which resulted in a tantrum. That wasn't fun but then she pasted out and we were able to have some adult conversations with my aunt and cousins.

Everyone got a good nights sleep and was well rested for a day of swimming on Sunday. It was so awesome to have Kinley play with someone other than Matt or I. We were able to enjoy a cup or two of coffee while one of my cousins or aunt played with her. She did play alone very well too. My grandma came over and hung out as well. It was so great to see her! We haven't seen her in a year and we miss her tons. It is really hard to live so far from family. It was a blast just hanging at the pool all day and have nothing to do. My aunt grilled some burgers for dinner which were so yummy!

Monday we hung at the pool as well and went to dinner in Tarpon Springs for greek food. I love greek food so I was super excited! We wanted to walk around a little bit but it was super sunny still and we did not come prepared for the kids. No sunscreen and no hats. I never leave the house without hats. Sure did this time. We did stop to get sunscreen and found a hat for Kinley but nothing for Zander. I knew better than to put that sunscreen on Kinley. Poor girl broke out with a rash from it. We were able to get a few pics and then headed home. Kinley wanted to go with my aunt to feed the dogs and I didn't want another late bedtime so we headed back. After we got the kids in bed we had some drinks and hung out us cousins. It was really fun. If you follow me on Snap Chat (I am still figuring it out, no judging) so saw some of our fun.

Tuesday we went to feed the alligators and hold them. They had a little place set up for the alligators at a mini golf place. It was the perfect activity because it was hot out! We only spent about an hour there but we were all dripping sweat by the time we were leaving. I was really shocked Kinley wanted to hold the alligator. She is really scared of lizards so it took me by surprise. She thought it was the coolest thing. Tuesday afternoon was spent in the pool. It was fantastic! I wish I had gotten a little more sun while we were there but we had a blast.

We had to get up super early, 3am, to catch our flight Wednesday morning. Of course Zander got up at 2 to eat so it was a long day! We are thankful we made it home safely.

We had such a blast in Florida with family. I am definitely missing hanging out by the pool and dreading going back to work Tuesday. I hope this anticipation is worse than actually being at work. We can't wait to plan our next trip to Florida!

Colorado Summer Wedding Part 1

What a beautiful wedding! We just got back from Colorado where my younger, yes you read that right, sister got married. Everyone thinks she's older than me but I am 13.5 months older.

She got married in an evening cememony in Pine, Colorado. It was beautiful and the weather was perfect. It did start pouring a little into the reception but we were indoors so it was fine.

We started the morning with a dad's breakfast with lots of food. He really is the best cook! I think that is one of the best parts of going back to Colorado, getting to enjoy his cooking!

Julie had hairstylists and makeup artists come to my dad and Darlene's house so we all could get pretty. It was great to chat with everyone while getting ready and enjoying a glass of wine. Kinley got to take a nap before her long night ahead! She had big shoes to fill and did awesome!

She was the flower girl and we all know that is no easy task to fill, especially at 18 months old.

The limo picked us up and we headed up the mountain. It was sooooooooo hot in the limo it was awful! The air was on full blast and only coming out of one vent. Horrible! It wasn't cool out either. It made for a somewhat miserable limo ride unfortunately. Though on an exciting note Kinley got to ride with us.

After getting up to the ranch we all were able to freshen up and get in our dresses. It was picture time.

Oh my what a stressful time. Kinley was not cooperating and did not want any pictures taken. I felt so bad! I just wanted the day to be perfect for my sister. I just hope the photographers got some pictures with her. My pictures are by no means professional but I was too impatient to wait for those. So you get what I have :). I'll share the professional ones when I get them.

It was ceremony time! I was so happy Kinley was ok staying with daddy while I walked down. Then she came! The look on her face was priceless. It seriously was the cutest thing ever! She walked with my nephew and did awesome! She didn't hold the sign my sister wanted her to hold but she made it all the way down with Connor without any tears! After Julie I'm pretty sure she stole the show!

The ceremony was absolutely beautiful. The location, the sharing of the sand, the vows and everyone included.

This is getting long and if you've made it this far thank you!

Goodbye Colorado

Up early this morning! Kinley got up at 4 to eat so I pumped after then gathered our things to head to the airport. I'm not sure how I'm wide awake since I didn't sleep one bit last night. Lots of things going through my head. More on that later. Starbucks and a blueberry muffin before 530 check! Breastfeeding through the night makes for one starving mamma when I get up.

Sorry for the bad picture. Sitting in the car plus it being dark out still doesn't make for good pictures!

hate more than anything saying goodbye to my sister and nephew! It never gets easier! I miss them so much. The distance is hard on all of us! Though I am thankful for the quality time we all got to spend together. Hopefully it won't be long before I see then again! Goodbye Colorado! We will miss you!

go back to work on Monday and I'm kind of freaking out about it :(. Hence why I haven't been sleeping well. I'm so so sad about leaving Kinley. Though she will be home with daddy for 95% of the day it's not making it any easier. I'm pretty sure I'm not going to sleep all week. His mom will watch her for about 30 mins before I get home but still she's not with me! So very sad! Matt works nights so it works but we will miss him for bedtime stories. If anyone has any tips on making the transition back to work easier please share!

Yesterday we went to build a bear and my sister made Kinley her first bear. So adorable and she loves it.

I also need to share I found someone to donate my pumped breast milk too through Human Milk 4 Human Babies. I was so excited and it felt great to help another mamma and baby out! I had to keep pumping while we where in Colorado and I did not want to just toss all that liquid gold! It was very easy. I just posted on their Facebook page that I had milk to donate and would meet someone for the drop off. Someone replied and I gave them milk. Woo hoo!! 51 ounces of liquid gold to help another baby!

Well off for airport fun...NOT!!! See you all back in Virginia Beach. We have a long day of flying! Let's hope Kinley does as well this time! Wish us luck!
